Quiznos Sandwich Artist Interview Video

Video Transcript

Interviewer: Please describe your job title and primary duties.

Quiznos Sandwich Artist: I believe I was a sandwich artist, I think is what they called it. Just basically making the sandwiches. You had to memorize everything that goes on each specific sub – what bread it goes on. You had to keep the line full with all different foods and also handle cash register for a while.

Interviewer: What was the work environment like?

Quiznos Sandwich Artist: Typically, you’re dealing with lines, so you have to work under pressure and be able to get the stuff done quickly. So, it was a little more intense, but also they tried to keep it laidback and fun, at least.

Interviewer: Please describe a typical day as an employee.

Quiznos Sandwich Artist: I think, if I remember right, you had to be there about 15 minutes before the other person would leave to help fill the whole line and all the food to get everything ready so when you go on the line, everything was ready to go. You start with that, then basically jump into making food until the shift is over, or you get downtime, you just clean up, clean up all the mess of making food, doing dishes, cutting fresh vegetables, and stuff like that.

Interviewer: How would you describe the application and interview process?

Quiznos Sandwich Artist: We had to answer basic questions: “Do you have customer service experience?”, “Have you ever worked with food?” We had to train for a week before the store opened on all the different subs, so I think during the interview process, they thought we were going to be someone who could handle all the different subs and handle the pressure of customer service.

Interviewer: What questions did the interviewer ask during the job interview?

Quiznos Sandwich Artist: They made us watch videos. They were training videos, but they also had a questionnaire, like if you saw someone stealing food/stealing money, would you turn them in. It was kind of basic questions, making sure you could be ethical and responsible at the same time.

Interviewer: What set you apart from other candidates?

Quiznos Sandwich Artist: For some reason, I had a freakish ability to remember what kind of everything goes on the subs, so I think that was mostly what they look for.

Interviewer: What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?

Quiznos Sandwich Artist: Just be professional and respectful, and try to remember what you can.
