Manager – For experienced food service professionals and more career-minded individuals, roles in management may deem preferable. Typically, most employ an assistant manager and a store or general manager. In order to qualify for assistant or general manager positions, applicants must possess one to two years of previous management experience, preferably in the food service or hospitality industry. At times, further post-secondary education may also earn preference. Shift managers tend to make slightly above subordinate workers, at around $8.00 to $9.00 per hour, while assistant managers may earn up to $30,000 a year. Store or general managers typically earn annual salary options in excess of $60,000.
