The Limited Sales Associate Interview Video
Interviewer: Please describe your job title and primary duties.
The Limited Sales Associate: I am a sales associate. Essentially, what I do… I help out clients finding clothing to fit their needs. We ask them what occasion they’re shopping for, what colors they like, and we find clothing to fit their individual needs and body style, then we assist them through the checkout process and all that stuff.
Interviewer: What was the work environment like?
The Limited Sales Associate: It’s very easygoing. It really depends on the traffic in the mall. It can be really quick paced, and you have a lot of things to do in a short amount of time and a lot of people to help. Or, if it’s kind of a slower day, you get to take your time with the client, and it’s much more easygoing.
Interviewer: What was your favorite part about working there?
The Limited Sales Associate: I really like that a lot of our clients are repeat customers, so they either have a credit card with us or they get the emails and they come in all the time. So, it’s really nice because we get to work with them all the time. We know a lot of them on a first name basis and have relationships with them. When they come in, we ask, “How’s your daughter?” or “How’s so and so?” It’s good because I get to meet new people through it.
Interviewer: Please describe a typical day as an employee.
The Limited Sales Associate: You go in, ask your boss what needs to be done. Usually there’s go-backs from the dressing rooms. So, you have to put everything back throughout the store, greet customers, tell them about the promotions we have going on, help them in the rooms.
Interviewer: How would you describe the application and interview process?
The Limited Sales Associate: The application was very easy. It was all online. It was very straightforward. There weren’t any trick questions – “Well, what do you do in this situation?” It was very straightforward. The interview process was also very straightforward. They guy who interviewed me was very nice. It was really easy.
Interviewer: What questions did the interviewer ask during the job interview?
The Limited Sales Associate: Well, because it’s a clothing store, he asked us about our individual style, what we like to do, where we like to shop, what we would usually wear, and how often we keep up with style, fashion forwardness, I guess.
Interviewer: What set you apart from other candidates?
The Limited Sales Associate: I think that I’m a good people person. I like to listen and I like to talk. So, I just talk.
Interviewer: What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?
The Limited Sales Associate: Stay fashion forward, always keep up with the latest trends because we’re always bringing things in that are new, cutting-edge – still classic but has a little bit of an edge to it. Be friendly because no one wants to work with someone who’s a grumpy grouch and just be positive. I mean, it’s a fun job. Stay positive.
