U-Haul Laborer: Okay, my job title was like a laborer. I was preparing the trucks. You know, washing them, cleaning them. Once in a while sometime you know, I’ll go and register people for like their moving, register vehicle to them. Stuff like that.
Interviewer: What was the work environment like?
U-Haul Laborer: The work environment was fine. You had people around you. Everyone showed a lot of professionalism and so we got along fine.
Interviewer: Please describe a typical day as an employee.
U-Haul Laborer: We start around about seven in the morning until about five in the evening and it was like, “Okay, it was great.” If I didn’t have anything else to do, if someone wanted to rent a U-Haul, I go in there and get it. You know? I take over for a guy if he wanted to go and get lunch or something like that.
Interviewer: How would you describe the application and interview process?
U-Haul Laborer: Well, back them it was like, regular paper application, you can fill it out and then two or three weeks later I got called and I was there. Like that.
Interviewer: What questions did the interviewer ask during the job interview?
U-Haul Laborer: They asked me questions like have I been convicted of this, yes. Have I had a DUI or whatever. Miscellaneous stuff. Stuff like that.
Interviewer: How were you notified that you received the job?
U-Haul Laborer: They gave me a call. They gave me a call and they told me when can I come in and then they wanted me to take a drug test and all that kind of stuff so I did those figures right there.
Interviewer: What other advice would you give to a job seeker looking to gain employment?
U-Haul Laborer: Any one I get advice to, I give them advice and say go there, do your best on your application, stuff like that and you know, just be truthful and honest. That’s it.
