United is very thorough in thier hiring process for A&P mechanics, so make sure you have your head on straight. Before you can have an interview, you must pass a hands on assessment test. I can’t tell you what is in it, but I can tell you if you have an A&P, you should have no problem. The biggest problem folks have is they get nervous and forget to rely on thier knowledge during the hands on. It is a timed test, and all parts MUST be completed to pass. After passing the test (and you MUST pass), you can expect to have a two plus hour interview. I am not trying to scar any one, just letting you know that United wants and gets the BEST and this is how they do it. Just remember to dress business casual, keep a clear mind and be yourself. United will treat you with respect and ask the same in return. If you do well and they want you, it could 6 weeks to find out, and if you are not what they want, you will know much sooner.
